Drill Team

The drill team provides cadets with the opportunity to develop their skills in drill and ceremonial movements, enhancing their overall cadet experience.

Drill Team Training

Drill team training sessions are held regularly, where cadets practice various drill movements and sequences. These sessions focus on precision, coordination, and uniformity, ensuring that each member performs with excellence.

Why Drill ?

Drll practice focuses on precision, coordination. Our drill team also participates in competitions against other squadrons. These competitions are a chance for cadets to demonstrate their skills, compete at a high level, and showcasethe pride and professionalism of 100 Laval Squadron.

Ceremonial Performances

The drill team performs during the squadron's annual and semi-annual ceremonial reviews. These reviews are significant events where cadets demonstrate their skills, discipline, and dedication to parents, staff, and special guests.

Marksmanship

This program is designed to teach cadets the fundamentals of air rifle shooting, safety, and discipline. 

Marksmanship Training

Marksmanship training sessions are an integral part of our activities. Cadets learn the skills and techniques required for precision shooting in a safe and controlled environment.

Marksmanship Team

In addition to regular training, we have a dedicated marksmanship team. This team participates in competitions against other squadrons, representing 100 Laval Squadron with skill and sportsmanship. Team members are selected based on their shooting proficiency, dedication, and ability to work as a team.

Ground School

Our Ground School program is  providing cadets with the theoretical knowledge necessary for a future in aviation. 

Ground School Training

Ground School covers various aspects of aviation theory, including principles of flight, meteorology, navigation, and aviation regulations. These sessions are designed to give cadets a solid foundation in aviation knowledge, preparing them for advanced training and potential careers in aviation.

Why Ground School

Cadets gain a comprehensive understanding of aviation theory, essential for any aspiring pilot. The program provides a strong basis for future careers in aviation and related fields

Scholarships

Participation in Ground School is mandatory for cadets applying for the Glider Pilot Scholarship and the Private Pilot Scholarship. These scholarships are highly competitive and prestigious, offering cadets the opportunity to receive flight training and earn their pilot licenses.

Sports

Our sports program is designed to promote a healthy lifestyle, enhance team spirit, and develop leadership skills among our cadets.

Activities

During sports night, cadets engage in a variety of sports and physical activities, including but not limited to: Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer, Fitness challenges

Why Participate?

Regular physical activity helps maintain a healthy body and mind. Sports night is a great way to build friendships and enjoy a sense of community within the squadron.

Effective Speaking

Effective Speaking program is designed to develop the communication skills of our cadets, fostering confidence and proficiency in public speaking

Effective Speaking Training

The Effective Speaking program provides cadets with the tools and techniques necessary for delivering effective speeches. Training sessions cover various aspects of public speaking, including speech preparation, delivery, and overcoming stage fright.

Why Effective Speaking

Develops the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in various
settings. Builds self-confidence and the ability to speak in front of an audience.

Competition Pathway

Every year, cadets have the opportunity to participate in a local competition at the squadron level. The winner of this competition represents 100 Laval Squadron at the regional competition, competing against cadets from other squadrons in the area. The regional winner then advances to the provincial competition, where they compete against winners from other regions within the province. Finally, the provincial winner represents their region at the national competition, showcasing their skills on a larger stage.

Music Band

The music band is for both passionate musicians and those who want to learn more. The Band plays at the squadron's events

What we do

Cadet bands provide their squadrons with accompaniment for ceremonial occasions add visibility within the community and build l’esprit de corps. Equally important, the cadet music program provides individual cadets with a challenging, worthwhile means of developing as cadets, musicians and members of the community

Why join the band

Cadets who love music learn to play a musical instrument in a concert and military style band. They learn the principles of drill with instruments and formations on parade. Cadets can earn level badges as they further their knowledge in reading sheet music and musical theory.
